Samba

With a samba server broadcasting by itself, Finder can see the server in the SHARED column, but it will not be able to connect. The reason is because it cannot look up the hostname. Add an entry either in /etc/hosts or add a host to the local DNS server, and you'll be good to go.

Software Update

If the software update fails, and gets stuck into a setup loop. Boot into safe mode by holding down Shift. Then at the login screen, exit out, and restart.

Apache Service

To have Apache startup at boot, download the plist file and place it in the ~/Library/LaunchAgents/ directory.
